A strategic member of the
Enterprise and Empowerment Foundation’s product line, E2F Research™ serves to
promote, support, and enhance the research mission of
Norfolk State University (NSU) by providing exceptional
organizational, fiscal, and support services in the most
cost-effective and efficient manner. E2F
Research™ creates and develops opportunities to increase
university sponsored research activities and promotes the
conversion of research results and intellectual properties
into technological innovations and patented commercialized
products.
Via
its business arm
E2F
Research, LLC,
E2F Research™
manages the research
contract infrastructure, wherever and whenever applicable,
on behalf of NSU. Additionally, E2F Research™
will identify, legally protect, and market
intellectual properties that result from work performed by
NSU researchers. E2F Research™ will
also facilitate the creation of start-up
businesses and related new jobs spawned by research-based
intellectual property.
Research performed at
Norfolk State University facilitates the education of its
students, the acquisition of new and important technology,
and the professional growth of its researchers. As a direct
result of its many research success stories, NSU has
achieved prominence within the Hampton Roads Region, the
Commonwealth of Virginia, and throughout the United States.
Much of the research at NSU is conducted within its various
Centers of Excellence that are as follows:

encourages,
advances, and nurtures research in the areas of computer
science, materials science, engineering, and the physical
and life sciences. Our researchers are working and
achieving breakthroughs in the areas of e-battlespace
development, wireless sensor networking, maritime security,
modeling and simulation, photonics, nanotechnology, crystal
growth, and device fabrication. Additionally, our
researchers are connected to the world via the Enterprise
and Empowerment Foundation’s RISE SuperNodeSM,
a private synchronous optical network (SONET) with
ultra-high capacity, fault-tolerant design, supporting
speeds from 1.5 megabits per second (DS-1) up through
multiple 10 Gbps (10,000 megabits per second) Lightwave
networks. The RISE SuperNodeSM provides
Internet connectivity across the university’s enterprise.

Research™
spearheads agreements with government agencies, private
industry, and fellow institutions of higher learning. E2F
Research™ utilizes the existing capabilities of NSU’s
researchers as well as recruits additional highly-qualified
scientists to meet the ever-increasing demands of our
customers for technological innovations. All the while,
E2F Research™ provides a business-oriented
organizational structure capable of responding to the
requirements of the marketplace with flexibility and
creativity.
E2F Research™,
via E2F Research LLC, will persist in the
mission to support researchers at NSU by providing top-notch
pre- and post-award sponsored research services in support
of the university’s research initiatives. Additionally,
E2F Research™ contributes to the university’s
efforts towards the recruitment and retention of
best-qualified researchers, and promotes an increased level
of sponsored funding from all relevant sources.
By building a foundation for excellent research
through electronic administration, responsible stewardship
of funds, and sound management practices, E2F
Research™ will continue to be an important partner in
Norfolk State University’s research endeavors. |
